About Us

OUR CLUB’S MISSION

This is a great time to be involved with Lake County Soccer Club (LCSC) and benefit from its coming of age. The level of organization and sophistication of our program is rapidly rising.

Many of our coaches work in local area high schools and coach soccer full-time as Directors of Coaching or paid staff. We also have a new generation of youth coaches, coaches who actually played soccer when they were growing up. Most have learned from the best right here at LCSC. Coaches at LCSC leave a positive impression on players and lead them to pass on the torch to the next generation.

Youth soccer has become very competitive. Competitiveness is a natural mindset in the quest for sport excellence. As a CLUB we strive to raise the awareness of the decision-makers in youth soccer, the club coaches, administrators and parents that we have a CHILD-CENTERED PHILOSOPHY.

We encourage player development, teamwork, individual creativity, problem solving, and foster the love of soccer. We encourage and support tournament exposure, and also provide in-house clinics to raise the level of play by providing the players with more opportunities to play the game without a great expense and time commitment to the parents.

Every country has its own soccer culture that has evolved over decades. LCSC’s goal is to learn from our European neighbors to provide quality over quantity (i.e. more tournament vs less practices and technical development).

We believe in fostering a long-term relationship with our players by focusing on developing not only the player’s technical skills but also their work ethic. We find building character through teaching good sportsmanship and taking responsibility for performance a mission worth striving for.

We strongly believe that the mission of LCSC is to develop character, instill values, teach respect for authority and society, develop confidence and a positive self image and help youth reach their potential in life. We happen to use soccer as the vehicle to achieve this mission.

Winning is a byproduct of a quality program but should not be the driving force. There’s a difference between ‘teaching life lessons through sport’ and ‘collecting trophies in sport’ (mission vs ambition). We strive to nurture our youngest players at the ripe age of 4 years old all the way to our 19 year old Region / State Cup players.

LCSC provides the players top level facilities, expert coaching, administrative support and, above all, a high standard of behavior and role modeling. It is not about what the player can do for the Club, but what the Club can do for the player in terms of character and skill development. Although the heartbeat of the Club is its members, volunteers are the wheels that make this Club run the day to day operations. LCSC’s Board of Directors set the vision and mission and recruits experts to run the day to day operation of the Club.

LCSC’s mission is to be governed by high ethical standards, for the benefit of the next generation and the good of the game. Our commitment is to the player. No coach or parent will undermine the Club’s philosophy and reputation. We choose our staff based on expertise, role modeling and commitment to the Club. We also hold coaches accountable for breach of ethics. We encourage and provide opportunities for coaches to grow in their training and support their endeavors.

Our membership, sponsors, and grant monies financially support our Club. We make every effort to keep costs down and utilize our volunteer resources to reduce the cost to the players. We offer Community Service Hours for high school seniors and provide opportunities for players to pay their own way.

Parents play an influential role in the development of the player. The Club and the Parent are the Supporting Teammates that every player desires. We focus on the process, not the result. We are an encouraging support system who puts aside personal agendas and seek after a player’s ultimate goal: developing high moral citizens.

As Club leaders we strive to maintain a collaborative relationship with our players, parents, coaches, volunteers and other Clubs. We will settle for nothing less than safeguarding our Club’s philosophy and making our players’ needs our number one priority.

We thank you for considering our Club and look forward to developing a relationship with your family. We would like to acknowledge all the volunteers who have helped shape this Club. The essence of this Club is the heartbeat of our volunteers who have selflessly donated their time to make our grounds and our philosophy what it is today.

Cheers to the volunteers for the past 10 years that have paved the way and kudos to those that will pave the way the next 10 years.

We want to honor Mike and Kathy Stone for being the longest running volunteers for Lake County Soccer Club. Their contribution to this Club is unmatched. They have poured their hearts into making what this Club is today. Thank you Mike and Kathy from the bottom of our hearts!
